What is the Last Date for DU MCA Admission

Delhi University starts its admission for the new session every year in the months of July and August. To know the exact dates, Visit the official website of Delhi University. The admissions are closed for the MCA course this academic year but will be open soon. DU always provides information regarding the admission dates, registration, merit list, and many more on their official website. So, it is advisable to visit the official website of Delhi University for detailed information. 

The entrance exam is an important factor that affects the admission procedure. There are various entrance exams for this course at different levels in India, some of them are  NIMCET, BHU PET MCA, TANCET, BIT MCA, CUET-PG, and many more. After successfully passing the entrance with a decent score, students are eligible for admission to the MCA program at DU.

Entrance Exams for MCA Specialization in India

  • NIMCET: The National Institute of Technology (NIT), a significant national institution under the purview of the Indian government's Ministry of Education, administers the National Institute of Technology MCA Common Entrance Test (NIMCET), a national-level test. There are nine NITs in the following locations: Agartala, Allahabad, Bhopal, Jamshedpur, Kurukshetra, Raipur, Surathkal, Tiruchirappalli, and Warangal.
  • BHU PET MCA: An annual university-level test, the Banaras Hindu University Postgraduate Entrance Test for MCA (BHU PET MCA), is administered by the institution. It is a computer-based test (CBT) that provides 492 MCA seats at the university overall.
  • TANCET: The Anna University-conducted Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) is a state-level entrance test that provides admission to a range of postgraduate programs, such as MCA, MBA, MTech, M.Arch, and so on. TANCET can be taken offline or using paper and pen.
  • BIT MCA: An annual university-level exam, the Birla Institute of Technology MCA Entrance Exam (BIT MCA), is given by BIT. It is an online course that opens doors to admission to the university's MCA program.
  • CUET-PG: The National Testing Agency (NTA) administers the Central Universities Common Entrance Test for Post Graduation (CUET-PG), a national examination. The CUET MCA is a computer-based entrance exam that is administered online to applicants to several central institutions.

Note: These are some of the entrance exams held for the MCA program across India. Some of them are at the national level and university level. Delhi University only accepts the entrance result of CUET-PG for its post-graduation program. If the student wants to pursue their MCA program at  DU, they need to clear CUET-PG with a decent score.

Who is Eligible for the MCA Program

  • Students must have a bachelor’s degree with mathematics as a core subject and the degree must be recognised board.
  • With a minimum percentage of 60% for general categories and 55 for Other categories (SC/ST/OBC)
  • Students need to take the entrance exam for the admission procedure of MCA at Delhi University.
