Du’s academic council approves the proposal of the entrance test from next year.
New Delhi: The Delhi University’s academic council (AC) on this Friday, 10th December 2021 passed the approval to introduce the entrance test for admissions. From the next year, this admission procedure has been active for the admission procedure.
This proposal earlier was required for approval by the University’s Executive Council before it was implemented or came into action. The entire managing body is expected to meet at the meeting next week for discussing the proposal that has been cleared by the academic council of education.The academic council, which is consists of about 100 members, has passed the agenda after a discussion on the recommendations that have been signed and submitted by the nine members of the Delhi University Committee which is specially formed in the month of October to the deliberation of the academic admission reforms.
The head of Academic Council Committee DS Rawat and Vice-Chancellor Yogesh Singh in October has suggested that “alternative Strategy for optimal admissions in the undergraduate courses”. The committee has also exclaimed and examined the issue of over-admission and under-admissions to the undergraduate courses. The board-wise distribution of the admissions courses and advocacy for an entrance examination in the admission process in the meantime report.
The next meeting for the discussion for the approval will be scheduled for 17th December by the Executive Council. The “Common Entrance Test” for the bachelor’s programme will lead to all the arts and commerce programmes. The council has also paved the way to the introduction of the entrance of the three BTech Courses from the next upcoming academic session of 2022- 2023. At least of the 18 elected council members have given their dissent on this proposal.
