DU SOL Is Seeing High-Score of Admissions Line Up For This Academic Session

The DU SOL has taken a high number of students in their Undergraduate courses as compared to DU regular colleges. Scroll down to know the update more. 

Delhi School of Open Learning is also seeing a large number of admission in their various Undergraduate (UG) courses. For the B.com programme, DUSOL has even admitted students with 99% marks in their 12th boards. In DU SOL overall 47,00 students have been admitted so far and more than 1,04,000 students have registered themselves for the various undergraduate courses such as B. A programme, B.A (Hons)English, B.A (Hons) Political Science, B.COm Programme and so forth. 

The count in last year came down a bit. Last year prior to 2020, DU SOL has admitted around 1.5 lakh students on average. In the academic session of 2021-22, the DU SOL will admit more students this year due to the high cutoff of regular DU colleges of various courses. The students are taking admissions in DUSOL as compared to DU regular colleges.

Uma Shanker Pandey, officiating Principal of SOL, said that “We are hoping that there will be more students this year in the academic session of 201-22. We have also launched a chatbot this year to the students, to answer the queries of students in a fast way”. 

The admission process for the Undergraduate courses has been started in the month of October. In course B. A programme, the admission has so far seen of the maximum number of high scores- 415 students scoring 90% and above in their boards. BCom programme course also has 410 students with 90% and above marks in their total 12th. 

While BCom Programme in the regular colleges has recorded admission with the highest percentage at 99%, for BCom (Hons), the cutoff is 98.6%. There are also a large number of students who have scored 95% and above percentage in their 12th boards. 

Uma Shanker Pandey also said that “ Now SOL also follows the choice-based credit system (CBCS) like the regular colleges. It also allows students the flexibility to work along with their studies. Many of the students, especially those who are pursuing BCom, can also be preparing for the competitive examinations”. 

Among the humanities courses, the BA programme has also attracted the most number of students -42-  with the 95% and above marks in 12th boards. In Political Science (Hons), 25 students, in English (H) 13 students have secured 95 and above percentage in class 12th. 

According to Pandey, officiating principal, SOL has started Teacher and Student Samvad, it’s an interactive platform that will be held every Tuesday.
