Program Description in Brief

DU SOL MA Economics is a prestigious course provided by Delhi University. It’s a two-year degree program that includes at least 15 courses of which nine are elective and six compulsory courses. The course can be completed in four years and the minimum duration is two years.

Mode of Instruction

The basic mode of instruction for MA Economics is English only, students have to read a total of 15 subjects including core and subject topics. Most of the topics including assignments and project works are available in the English language. However, students can converse with their academic staff in Hindi also.


Distance MA Economics is offered as a two-year postgraduate program with semester examinations, projects, and assignments. In the first semester, students need to read and undergo four subjects like Micro Economics, Macro- Economics, Statistics, Mathematics for Economics. In semester 2, students have to appear for papers: General Equilibrium and Welfare Economics, Open Economy Macroeconomics. In semester 3, students need to appear for Indian Economy Policy, Growth, and Development Theory. In the final semester, students have to appear for International Trade, Environmental Economics- 1.
